Richard H. Onysko, P.A.–C
Richard Onysko has been a Physician Assistant with Southern California Heart Specialists for over 20 years. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, he received his undergraduate degree in Health Education at Southern Connecticut State University. He was also a N.C.A.A. champion gymnast and international competitor. He went on to pursue a Registered Nursing degree here at Pasadena City College, and was president of his graduating class. After working some years at Huntington Memorial Hospital he went on to receive his Physician Assistant degree from the University of Southern California, graduating with the honors of Valedictorian. Richard has been an integral part of the group helping with daily rounds at the hospital and assisting with surgical procedures. He works closely under the supervision of the cardiologists, and is part of the clinical team. He is also very instrumental in the daily workings of the office practice. He assists with the follow-up of the defibrillator and pacemaker patients, as well as follow-up visits and new consultations. Richard is married with two children. He is very involved with community activities, such as support of local athletic teams, and a donor to the Methodist Hospital Foundation. He is an active lecturer for University of Southern California School of Medicine for over 20 years, and mentors many students. He enjoys photography and playing guitar.
