Michael Q. Luu, M.D.
Born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam, Dr. Luu received a bachelor degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Medicine and completed his residency training at the University of Southern California Medical Center. Dr. Luu subsequently underwent training in heart failure and transplantation at the University of California Los Angeles at VA Wadsworth Medical Center.
Dr. Luu is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology. He is an interventional cardiologist as well as performing permanent pacemaker implantation, transesophageal echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
He has published numerous scientific publications and has delivered presentation at regional and national cardiology meetings. He has made significant contributions in maximizing medical therapy and elucidating the mechanisms of sudden death in patients with congestive hear failure. He continues to be active in various clinical research trials.
Dr. Luu has served as chief of both Internal Medicine and Cardiology at St. Luke's Hospital, as well as Chief of Cardiology at Huntington Hospital.
